Biodiversity under the Sea
Founded by a group of diving enthusiasts from the Singapore Management University, the SMUX Reef Alert team attempts to highlight the dire consequences our everyday actions have on marine ecology. Other than conducting annual reef checks on Pulau Dayang, exhibitions are held to raise public awareness. Corals are the building blocks of marine biology, and they will be the highlight of this year’s exhibition. Reef Alert will share information on the importance of corals, how it affects biodiversity, the damage that has been done to these organisms, and how it will eventually affect us. Reef Alert will attempt to bring the true underwater experience right into the heartland with the help of life-like mock corals and pictures to highlight the frailties of these organisms. Come on down to experience a journey through the seas, an opportunity not to be missed.
